DeWitt/King Barn (5)
The John DeWitt family owned this farm in the early 1900's. John's great-grandson, Melvin DeWitt, told Gail Curry-Fish the following when they met at the intersection of County ZZ and County Z while she was doing reserach on the barns:
"The barn was built in the year my dad, Glenn DeWitt was born, 1912. My uncle was born in the same house. He said the barn was different as it had lath and plaster inside. It may have been the only barn like this. It was vented this way. My great-grandfather, Ernest, built this barn and several others in the Valley (referring to Cheyenne Valley). They are all gone now except for the home place."
